DHL looks at air cargo sites in Mumbai, Kolkata and Gujarat
BONN-BASED logistics giant DHL is negotiating for space to establish a set of exclusive air cargo terminals in Mumbai, Kolkata and Gujarat, reports the Press Trust of India.
DHL Express India, which has terminals in Delhi and Bangalore, operates five cargo flights a day, each averaging 100 tonnes capacity, said DHL vice president Sandeep Juneja.
With access to 19 dedicated DHL flights and 100 commercial flights per week now, he said, the company needs more terminals and is in negotiations in Mumbai and Kolkatta to get them.
Gujarat, which was witnessing 25 per cent of total exports of the country, would also be the next location for the company, he said.
